  25. 1. General Notes
  26. ================
  27.   It is IMPORTANT that you read this README file before you
  28.   continue the installation! Otherwise the company cannot accept any
  29.   responsibility for claims that may be caused as a consequence.

  31.   Please be aware that you can only take full advantage of the
  32.   features provided by the Stealth 3D 2000 Pro, if the other components 
  33.   of your system, especially the graphic monitor that is being used,
  34.   also comply with the specifications of the Stealth 3D 2000 Pro.
  35.   (Example : The resolution 1280x1024 that is supported by the
  36.   Stealth 3D 2000 Pro can obviously not be used with a monitor that is
  37.   specified to only support resolutions up to 1024x768).

  39. 2. Installation
  40. ===============
  41.   The program calls stated below refer to the installation from the
  42.   the Diamond SuperCD.

  44. 2.1 Installation under Windows 95
  45. =================================
  46.   Note: The install program detects your operating system and installs
  47.   the correct drivers.

  49.   Select the menu item 'Run' from the Start Menu.

  97. 2.5 Installation under OS/2 Warp
  98. ================================
  99.   A driver for OS/2 2.11, WARP 3.0 or WARP 4.0 is available from the
  100.   Diamond BBS or on the Internet www.diamondmm.de.
  101.   Please read the file README.TXT for installation instructions, that
  102.   comes with the driver.

  106. 3. Choosing a Monitor
  107. ======================
  108.   As mentioned above, the graphics monitor you choose to use with
  109.   your Stealth 3D 2000 Pro board should be technically suitable in
  110.   order to fully utilize its features.

  113.  
  114.   Only use settings that your monitor supports. If you use the
  115.   monitor outside the specified ratings, it may suffer permanent
  116.   damage! If you change the monitor, you must compare the ratings
  117.   first and reconfigure accordingly!

  120. 4.   TV-output
  121. ==============
  122.   If your Stealth 3D 2000 Pro has a TV-output, please look into the
  123.   online manual how to connect your TV set.
  124.  
  125.   TV-output is only supported with Windows 95 drivers and InControl
  126.   Tools 95. With TV-output there is a resolution of 640x480 with 50Hz
  127.   available.

  129.   If you have switched ON TV-output with InControl Tools 95, you
  130.   will find in display properties a monitor called "Diamond TV-out (PAL)".
  131.   Please use this monitor type for the time you have TV-output ON.
  132.   If you switch OFF TV-output, your default monitor will be reselected.
  133.  
  134.   Before you disconnect your TV set, please switch OFF TV-output.
  135.   Otherwise you will loose the capability to switch OFF TV-output and to
  136.   change to higher resolutions. Should this be the case, please connect
  137.   your TV set again and switch OFF TV-output first.

  139. 5.   MS-DOS Utilities
  140. =====================
  141. 5.1   VESA 2.0 extension
  142.       The VESA 2.0 TSR is only needed if your Stealth 3D 2000 Pro has a
  143.       TV-out BIOS V.2.xx. Without TV-out and BIOS V.1.xx the VESA 2.0
  144.       extension is already integrated in the BIOS.

  146.       Installation Instructions
  147.       -------------------------
  148.       1.  Boot to a DOS command prompt.
  149.       2.  Execute the program TVP2.EXE, you will find in directory
  150.              D:\INSTALL\GRAPHICS\STEALTH\3D2KPRO\DOSUTIL
  151.           on your SuperCD.
  152.       3.  If you regularly run VESA 2.0 applications, you might copy
  153.           TVP2.EXE to your hard disk and add this program call to
  154.           your AUTOEXEC.BAT file.

  157. 5.2   XMODE / XDIAG
  158.       XMODE allows selection of monitor mode frequencies for DOS.
  159.       Monitor timing information is saved to the XMODE.EXE file.
  160.       XDIAG is a diagnostic utility for the Stealth 3D 2000 Pro Series.
  161.       It runs a series of test patterns so that the user can look for
  162.       anomalies.

  169. 5. Known Restrictions
  170. =====================
  171.   OS/2 drivers, version 1.01.11 are only available from our on-line
  172.   services.
